P3O® (Portfolio, Porgramme and Project Offices) certification equips with a set of principles, processes and techniques to help deliver projects or programmes within an organization or department.

FOUNDATION

Description of the course:

P3O® Foundation level aims to confirm that a candidate has sufficient knowledge and understanding of the P3O guidance to interact effectively with an office within a P3O model.

Objectives:

  • Act as an informed member of an office within a P3O® model.
    • Manage multiple portfolios, projects and programmes successfully
    • Work more effectively in large scale project or programme environments
    • Pass the Foundation exam

Course Format & exam pass marks:

  • 60 minutes’ duration
  • Multiple choice questions
  • 75 questions – 70 live questions and five trial
  • 35 marks required to pass (out of 70 available) – 50%
  • Closed book.

Intended audience:

Members of offices within a P3O model or anyone who needs to understand the terminology and concepts underpinning P3O and those wishing to pursue higher level certifications.

Course length:

3 days training, exam taken on the last day (preparation and sitting the exam). The course can be also delivered in virtual mode, respecting the standard course length.

Requirements for homework:

During the Course, there will be Exercises and homework assigned to be completed prior to the exam.

Practitioner

Description of the course:

P3O® Practitioner certification aims to confirm whether a candidate has achieved sufficient knowledge and understanding of the P3O guidance to design, implement, manage or work within any component office of a P3O model.

Objectives:

  • Design, implement, manage or work within any component office of a P3O model
  • Understand the P3O elements, roles, functions and tools and techniques deployed in a generalized P3O model.
  • Pass the Practitioner exam

Course Format & exam pass marks:

  • 150 minutes’ duration
  • Objective Test
  • Four questions per paper with 20 marks available per question
  • 80 possible marks
  • 50% pass mark
  • Open book (Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices: P3O guide only)
  • Prerequisites: To take the P3O® Practitioner examination, individuals must hold a current P3O® Foundation certificate.

Intended audience:

Those wanting to take an active role in any of the offices described in the P3O model. While it is particularly suited to candidates fulfilling the management, generic or functional roles described in Appendix A of the P3O guide, it will also be relevant others who see the P3O model as a framework for a career path.
